This Soviet 1 Ruble Coin was produced in Russia in 1970 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Vladimir Lenin. The obverse features the coat of arms of the Soviet Union which includes the infamous hammer and sickle. The lettering on the obverse can be translated to, "One hundred years since the birth of V. I. Lenin, USSR, One, Ruble." The reverse features a profile image of Lenin's head. At the bottom of the reverse the dates, "1870-1970," can be seen. The edge of the coin has an alternating pattern of stars and dots.
